One of the projects we have been doing among Chiquitano communities is the building of playgrounds for the public schools children. These playgrounds done in the name of Jesus in at-risk communities opens the doors for us to come in with Bible studies, good news clubs and the Gospel. Last summer the community leaders from San Lorenzo begged us to build their children a playground. Part of our requirement for these projects to happen is that the community must put in its part. Usually that means the town leaders and parents of the children go out into the jungles and fell the trees needed for the lumber, then cut it into the various boards and post, and place them on site where the construction is to happen. It took awhile to get this one going mostly because of the extreme wet rainy season they had this year. Finally things dried out enough for them to get the lumber out. Here are some pictures of the enormous effort they have to go to to get the lumber out. For them it meant reopening a jungle road, removing a hard wood tree that fell in the road, and building a temporary bridge.
Keep following us as this project goes forward.
