Share the Gospel through your hard work
By going to Bolivia on a LATCOM work team, you are doing more than digging, sawing, and teaching. You are building hope for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to affect change in the lives of many.
See and do mission work firsthand
- Meet and get to know Latin Americans and their culture and country
- Encourage Latino Christians in their faith
- Share your building expertise — or just your hard work
- Organize an outreach, such as evangelism and Vacation Bible Schools
How you can be involved
- Organize a team from your church
- Join with another team. Combined teams have worked well
- Help to fund a work team project, if you cannot go, and bless others who can!
What kind of work you can do
- Camp: LATCOM is currently re-developing 200 acres of Monte Blanco at Tambo Camp and Conference Center in Bolivia, in the foothills of the Andes. Teams will be going down in the coming years for capital improvements.
- Village projects: Future work in small villages in the Lomerio region.
- Daily Vacation Bible School: DVBS is well-received with Bolivian children, even when the teachers are only English-speakers. Our translators will help you with your church's program. Wherever we have held DVBS, whether in Zapoco or Concepcion, or at Monte Blanco or the Lomerio, nearly all the available kids will attend.
Team details
Teams usually last about two weeks, June through August, and sometimes in January and March. There are often side trips to sightsee and observe mission work. Your effort is tax-deductible. Check with LATCOM for current cost. Innoculations are advised.
A passport is needed. Allow several weeks for processing. For more information, go to the US State Department's webpage on passports. Also, a visa is now needed to enter Bolivia. We can only accomodate teams and volunteers from the U.S.A. or Canada.
Contact LATCOM to ask for the latest team schedules and to begin the application process.
