The NETS Project / REDES
In 2010, LATCOM’s national missionaries Onesimo Rojas and Pablo Chuve launched the NETS Project––an evangelism and church planting effort in Bolivia’s Lomerio region. “Redes” is the Spanish word for “nets,” and REDES is an acronym for Relationship, Evangelism, Discipleship, Training (“entrenamiento” in Spanish), and Serving.

The first stage of NETS involved training local Christians in how to evangelize their communities. Onesimo and Pablo report that 80 believers from the area churches have been trained for evangelism. Several churches were planted and they are now flourishing.

In 2011, NETS has expanded its influence and is seeing wonderful results. For example, a Sunday school program was begun for the Ayore children living in Concepcion. Also, the congregations in El Puquio, Porvenir, Monterito, and San Lorenzo are growing. New buildings are being built and a new roof is being put on an existing church. Furthermore, the project has a strong emphases on training lay leaders. Leaders are being trained to begin and run community programs. And, after nine consecutive conferences, a Christian women's association for the region has begun.

With help from LATCOM, several US congregations, and several other Christian non-profits, NETS is directed and managed by Bolivian lay leaders to reach their own people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
